Taiwanese American Cultural Festival
oh, how i love the bay area! as some of you may know, i have been trying to move out to the san francisco/eastbay area for a while now. so this past week, i flew out there for interviews and such.
saturday may 17: i tried to get a head start on my day so i could squeeze in a visit to the taiwanese american cultural festival in union square (before my 5-hour math test for teaching certification).
even as someone who’s been pretty involved with the taiwanese american community, it was still an amazing sight to arrive at union square–right in the middle of sf– and see the entire place bustling with taiwanese american tents.
a couple weeks ago, ho chie had asked me to design a few banners for the taiwaneseamerican.org tent. it’s the start of what will hopefully become a multimedia exhibit on the taiwanese american experience.
here are the 3-foot x 6-foot creations in all their glory. you can actually order your very own set and see detailed previews at taiwaneseamerican.org/promote.html. here is the information reproduced below:
The Taiwanese American Experience: A Poster Exhibit

TaiwaneseAmerican.org’s very own Anna Wu, a documentarian, filmmaker, and web-savvy artist, has created a series of educational timeline posters to be used by individuals or organizations to visually present the history of Taiwanese Americans. These 24″x48″ posters are available for a donation of $150. Turn-around time for order is approximately 2 weeks.
