New York City | December, 2016
Over Christmas, Justin and I popped over from Philadelphia to New York City for a weekend filled wth art museums, Jewish and Chinese eateries, and other wanderings.
Would you believe I’ve never ever been to the Guggenheim before? I finally made a visit thanks to my SFMOMA membership, which includes reciprocal access to the Guggenheim, The Whitney, and tons of other great art museums all around the country.
The iconic continuous ramp design by Frank Lloyd Wright.
One of my favorites, a Picasso.
There were actually a couple Taiwanese artists in a special exhibit there.
Next, another first visit for me, to the Oculus! Basically a super fancy-looking shopping mall / transit connector.
Next, we headed over to The Whitney, just in time for golden hour and sunset on their beautiful roof deck.
Christmas day: brunch at Russ & Daughters…
…and hot pot for dinner!
Many thanks to Julia and Davis for letting us use their awesome Manhattan home as our home base for the weekend!
