Right after, we checked out the deYoung’s partner museum, the Legion of Honor, for their exhibit on Monet’s early years.

So many shades of white!

It’s always fascinating to see an artist’s early work. But if you want one of Monet’s beloved water lilies, just look in the permanent collections.
