Mitha & Virag | Chicago Wedding

|

I was thrilled to be able to attend my friend Mitha’s wedding in Chicago– as a guest! I met Mitha in college, and we shared a memorable class senior year called Arts and Human Rights, which was taught by a law professor who was blind, but only some of the time. I also went on a trip to Ireland with Mitha and her parents a few years after we graduated. Mitha is one of the smartest, most articulate people I know, so it’s no surprise that she’s now a successful lawyer in Chicago. A couple years ago when she moved back to Chicago, she reconnected with Virag, a friend from high school who’s now a doctor, and the rest is history! Power couple!

It was a fun three days of celebration, with a Sangeet & Mehendi on Thursday, a welcome reception on Friday, and the ceremony and reception on Saturday.

So fun to participate in the Mehendi party with these beautiful henna tattoos.

Melissa gave a wonderful speech at the Sangeet, and there were so many fun dance performances from friends and family too.

The wedding ceremony on Saturday morning! With our contingent of three Duke alumna.

Virag rode in on a white horse for the Baraat, while Mitha’s family welcomed him.

Beautiful ceremony.

With the bride and groom!

Thank you to my friend Cassie for lending me her sari!

Friends of the bride! And me and Justin, who ended up arriving at 4am due to a series of flight delays. Thanks for joining me!

So beautiful. Congratulations, Mitha and Virag! Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your wedding celebration!
