9 Hours in NYC

|

If you saw my post of the Nakao Family, you might already know the story behind my day trip to NYC. I hopped on a bus from Philadelphia, and for less than $20 I was able to get to and from New York, round trip. Here’s a little glimpse at my wanderings!

First I met up with my friend Charinee for lunch in SoHo.

I checked out the instagram-popular spot Cha Cha Matcha. Doesn’t this girl look like the definition of instagram chic?

I’m sad to report that this Yuzu Lemonade matcha drink was disguistingly sour, and I used to eat lemons for fun as a kid.

But hey! It sure is instagram-worthy!

Venturing on over to knitters’ mecca, Purl Soho. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any projects in mind or under way to buy for. But if you’re a crafter, you can visit them online at purlsoho.com for supplies and tons of great patterns and tutorials.

Up to Central Park for the Nakaos’ family portraits, and I happened upon one of the Ai Weiwei installations in the city. “Good Fences Make Good Neighbors.” And a splash of fall color for good measure.

Then, down to West Village for drinks at Anfora with Tiffany (who also happened to be in town for work) and Vince. And over to E.A.K. for ramen with Michelle!

Phew! A nice little day trip to NYC! And this was only a week after I had twisted my ankle in Shenandoah, so I was pretty happy with being able to walk around all day. Til next time!
