Modern Tea | Editorial Shoot

I am so thrilled to share this tea party with you all. If you’ve followed me for a while, you probably know my love for tea time. But after having seen so many different takes on the vintage/garden party/Alice in Wonderland types of tea parties, I wanted to craft something a little different: a more modern approach to afternoon tea. I teamed up with wedding planner Rachael of Ruby and Rose to make the vision come to life. We had the most amazing team of collaborators, and it was the perfect way to indulge of all my modern tea dreams. See just a glimpse of the tea party below!

Brianne of Brown Fox Calligraphy created beautiful acrylic invitations and name cards.

Such an adorable dessert station with all sorts of delicious treats provided by Craftsman and Wolves. The whole shoot took place at a brand new event venue in Oakland, 1544 Broadway, run by the lovely folks from Terra Gallery. We especially loved their hardwood floors salvaged from a shipping yard in Alameda.

We sampled four different teas from Tea People, who also led the tea tasting for us.

The florals were by Hawthorn Flower Studio, and our furniture was from West Elm.

 

Tabletop goods from CB2 and Crate and Barrel; flatware from Mrs. Peasy.

 

 

 

Benj, our tea genius from Tea People, shared so much knowledge about different teas and what their leaves look like after versus before steeping.
