Spoon Carving for my Birthday
I love getting to kick off each new year with a little gathering of my friends as I indulge in a bit of a birthday celebration. Last year, we took a pottery class, while the year before, we threw a swanky party in the garden at my studio. This year, I riffed on the crafting theme as we headed back to the garden for for a workshop on spoon carving. A huge thank you to Kayla for helping with the photography; Amanda for providing beautiful florals; Brianne for her gorgeous calligraphy; Melanie for teaching us to carve; and all my friends for coming and celebrating with me. See it all below!
A beautiful cork-backed invitation designed by Brown Fox Calligraphy. I love how this turned out.
Florals by Amanda, who just celebrated her birthday two days before!
We utilized some of Melanie’s beautiful wooden pieces like her cake stands and bud vases in our decor.
Brianne wrote each guest’s name to blend in perfectly with their place settings. And thank you Kayla for your many photos sprinkled in to this post!
First we gouge, then we whittle, and then we sand!
I love seeing how everyone’s spoons turned out. Many similarities, but all a little unique in their own ways.
Thank you to everyone for a wonderful birthday celebration!
