One of the first things I learned about Evangel and Edwin was how incredibly important the Coast Guard is in their lives, and soon after, I also learned how important their families are to them. Evangel grew up a child of the Coast Guard, with her father serving throughout her childhood. And Edwin is in the Coast Guard himself, often deploying for months at a time. It was a big part of what bonded them in the beginning and is now a big part of their lives together. For their wedding, Evangel and Edwin chose to feature their Coast Guard ties in the form of crisp dress whites and the military tradition of a sword arch, and they honored their families with a special table of heirloom photographs, as well as special ceremonies and small moments throughout the day. Evangel and Edwin assembled a table full of heirloom photos honoring their families. Not everyone even has wedding photos from their parents, let alone their grandparents, but they had a treasure trove of old photographs.
We thought it would be fun to recreate a couple throughout the day as well. This image is of Evangel’s grandmother Dolores, getting ready for her wedding day. Sadly, her grandmother passed just a couple months before the wedding.
