Hiking the Bay | Bothe-Napa, Redwood Regional, Cataract Falls, & Point Lobos
I’m not a very outdoorsy person by nature. Lacking in athleticism, having no survival skills, and having a general dislike for insects makes me pretty useless for most intense outdoor activities. But walking through pretty nature? Yes. That I love.
Back in March and April, I got to go on four different hikes around the Bay Area. From Marin County to East Bay to Napa and down to Monterey, here is a glimpse at all that pretty nature you get to see with just a bit of walking in the woods.
First up: a mid-week hike at Bothe-Napa with my friend Linda.
On a Sunday in March, Redwood Regional Park with my friend Dan.
And just one week later, Cataract Falls, which was a nearly vertical hike for the first half of the way.
The falls were pretty wimpy, but it was still pretty interesting to see any falls at all, given our drought situation and all.
Up top, you reach Rock Springs in Mt. Tam with a view of San Francisco in the distance.
Finally, in April, we headed to Monterey with Paul, Dan, and Tiffany, and went on a lovely, if overcast, hike at Point Lobos.
Baby seals with their moms!
Hike it yourself:
Bothe-Napa, Napa: 4.4 mile loop
Redwood Regional, Oakland: 3.7 mile loop
Cataract Falls, Fairfax: 2.8 out and back
Point Lobos, Carmel: 4 mile loop
