Cynthia & Erik | Big Sur Wedding
After nearly a decade of long distance, including over a year living apart during a global pandemic, Cynthia and Erik were able to reunite with each other and their families for a beautiful wedding ceremony on the cliffs of Big Sur, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The skies were fogged over, blanketing everyone in the celebration of their love. Ther were even sea lions gathering on a rock nearby, cheering them on with enthusiasm, and a well-timed flock of birds flying overhead in V-formation. This was the perfect way to be welcomed back into weddings and into a world where we can hold our loved ones in an embrace, reveling in tears and in laughter about all we have and will continue to journey through together.
The misty magic of Big Sur on a foggy day.
Instant tears. Love.
Cynthia’s father engraved slices of a tree they had cut down in their yard to transform them into custom coasters for each of the guests.
Heartfelt speeches from each of the parents, and with the magic of an intimate gathering, a few other friends and family members who felt moved to speak as well.
In the middle of the pandemic, with Cynthia in Texas and Erik in California, they each drove over ten hours to meet in a lavender field in New Mexico, where Erik proposed and they got engaged. Of course lavender made a little appearance on each table setting and in the cocktails they chose for the wedding. And now, in this ring shot too.
Congratulations, Cynthia and Erik. It was truly a joy to be a part of this celebration.
