Cincinnati
To complete our first of two Midwest tours this summer, I went to Cincinnati for a week to visit my mom. We didn’t have much on the itinerary other than regular suburb destinations like the mall and various grocery stores, and one quick trip downtown. But I am so grateful to have gotten this chance to spend some good quality time with family!
Suburb life. Greeted by this parking lot deer and homemade beef noodle soup!
Took my aunt and my mom to Jungle Jim’s, the crazy huge theme park-meets-grocery store of the Cincinnati suburbs.
International aisles for all sorts of countries.
I was still in the middle of my run training, so lots of morning sessions to attempt to beat the midwestern heat and humidity.
Kenwood Mall, of course. And our daily afternoon tea, with various cookies and dried fruits a la Costco.
My old high school, under construction for a brand new football field!
Costco.
Meijer!
Lots of delicious homemade meals.
Running on my high school track, for fun… a brand new experience, decades later!
Aunts, uncle, and mom! Weekend family time.
Findlay Market
Lucca
Cincinnati Art Museum
And a brief catchup with my friend Lauren.
A quick but lovely trip to the hometown! Of course we were back for Midwestern tour #2 just mere weeks later. Stay tuned for more!
