Twrl’s Home for the Holidays Party

I photographed a wonderful holiday dinner this winter, hosted by the lovely folks from Twrl Milk Tea, alongside several collaborators in their community. Twrl is a plant-based milk tea newly celebrating its launch into Whole Foods Markets. In addition, they wanted to honor the 90th anniversary of Norman Rockwell’s “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” painting with a modernized illustration by artist Felicia Liang. Celebrity chef and entrepreneur Kathy Fang hosted the dinner at Fang Restaurant and provided a fantastic meal; Caroline & Christine Strzalka provided the flowers; and reporter Stephanie Lin emceed for the evening. All in all it was a beautiful celebration of our local and global community and the joy of gathering in this holiday season.

A special turkey stuffed with Taiwanese sticky rice, as a nod to Twrl cofounder Olivia’s heritage.

Portuguese egg tarts from Holy Nata.

A stellar group of women collaborating for this event! Kathy, Caroline, Stephanie, Felicia, Olivia, and Pauline.

Felicia Liang reveals her modernized take on Norman Rockwell’s classic painting. She included her own grandparents, plus the actual dishes from our holiday dinner, in the illustration.

Olivia’s father did the honors by carving the turkey for everyone.

Feast!

So lovely. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of this event!
