Edit: This giveaway is now closed. Winners will be announced on March 1, 2014. I am thrilled to announce a Same-Sex Wedding Giveaway, coast to coast, open to both San Francisco (my home base) and New York City. This project has been in the back of my mind for a very long time now. I’ve…
We stood facing the sunset with the soothing sounds of the ocean crashing against a coastline lit up in vibrant hues. It was everything I loved most about the California Coast: our strange but beautiful sense of the seasons (autumn at the end of November); the color tinting our succulents rather than deciduous trees; the…
I am often guilty of taking tons of photos when I travel elsewhere but totally neglecting my own beautiful surroundings when I’m back in California. The solution? A hearty dose of staycation (vacationing at home!). My boyfriend Jesse was coming to San Francisco for a business conference, just as he did last year (when we…
Yali is quiet, genuine, caring, while Sriram is laid-back, more outgoing, and always able to make her laugh. When they met at work, they found balance and a place in each other’s hearts. I met these two on a sunny but windy-cold day in San Francisco for some engagement photos by the Legion of Honor…
Courtney and Nick are so down to earth and a joy to be around. We met up in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and roamed around, making stops in the Japanese Tea Garden, where they went on the day of Nick’s proposal, and around the Conservatory of Flowers as well. It was an incredibly foggy…
Julie and Jeremy’s proposal story, as told by them: Jeremy proposed to Julie exactly on their three year anniversary in front of the Golden Gate Bridge (this is where they first asked each other out!). Julie sleeps in on weekends, so Jeremy woke up early and frantically checked the weather all morning on public webcams…
I love the simplicity and the slightly raw look of this fabric backdrop. It added the perfect touch for our Pointe of View party and was a great and easy way to establish the coral, peach, and mint green color palette for the decor. Many thanks to my intern Rosa for helping both with making…
We had a wonderful launch party for the last week, and I just wanted to share another DIY project from the party decor. Since the party was ballerina-inspired, I wanted to create something with all this coral-pink tulle, but I didn’t want to be too literal with tutus, so I made decorative tulle pom poms….
Every Monday, I feature an image and backstory from my Pointe of View series. Hooray! Thank you so much to all of you who came to the book launch party in San Francisco this weekend. It was so wonderful to see everyone and to celebrate the successful release of my ! An extra big thank you goes…
Party planning is under way! I just wanted to take a quick break from shipping out boxes of to share a mini tutorial for a DIY project I did for the next week. It’s a modular cake stand that is super simple to make and take apart, allowing for many configurations. All you need is…
It started with a fall when Deirdre and Damian first met. A hard fall. It’s best when Damian tells the story: Deirdre was interviewing for a developer position at a new company, dressed in heels and very long dress pants. Her heels got into a fight with her pants and she fell (face first) in…
The first weekend of June, many of our friends from all over the country (New York, Chicago, LA) traveled to Northern California for a San Francisco & Napa retreat. The cornerstones were Alex and Jessica’s surprise proposal on Friday and dinner at The French Laundry on Sunday. We filled the weekend with food, wine tasting, and…
