Bay Area | May, 2025
Hello, May of last year! It was a busy month of travels and gatherings, but we start the at-home adventures with Taiwan Day at the SF Giants.

Cute Taiwan bear bobbleheads this year!

We had a wonderful personal block of Taiwanese Americans joining us for the annual night out.

The ‘popcorn chicken’ looked like donut holes and took ages to get (missed a whole inning waiting). Special event food is not really their strong suit. We caught a free t-shirt though.

Great crew!

Sweet treats. Flour + Water Pizza Shop soft serve / Sunny Hills pineapple cake.

Watching the Warriors in an away game in the playoffs. We went to the new Splash sports bar in Thrive City.

Alex ran a half marathon on the Bay Bridge. So we went to the expo in Oakland and stopped by Benchmark Climbing’s event afterwards. They had some funny problems, like this one that you have to climb while wearing oven mitts. Cheeseboard for lunch!

I also visited my favorite fabric shop in Berkeley — Stonemountain and Daughters. Got two knit fabrics to make outfits for myself.

Arts & crafts prep for my baby shower — making felt fruit kits for baby’s mobile.

Got a mani pedi and ran into these friends at the nail shop!

Hand embroidered some caps for grandma and grandpa-to-be.

Lots of furniture assembly with friends’ help.

I just tried to copy some H&M maternity outfits that I liked into new outfits with the fabrics I bought. I had never done this before, but I guess I assumed it wasn’t that hard.

I ended up wearing these a lot! I guess they turned out ok.

Portrait session time! Hair & makeup by Fiona Tsang, and photos by bestie Cassie Valente. See the session here!

Celebratory mozz sticks after the photo session and baby shower. And my brother came to help build the crib that he got for baby.

Knitting a pineapple romper with the yarn that I got in Minneapolis! And blocking the finished pieces.

Grand opening of Batch 22 Bakery in Los Gatos! Love these pudge cookies.

Home opener for the Golden State Valkyries! Proud to be two of the over 10,000 founding members in this inaugural seasons.

Very fun, unbeatable energy.

City Connect pre-game activations in the new park across the water from the ballpark

The Garrisons came up for dog day! Dog and toddler together makes for quite a lot of wrangling.

Here’s my second self-drafted maternity outfit. Also wore this one a ton!

Bumpin along with my beloved client Amanda for her maternity session, and we had our babies the same month. Their session was my last one before going on leave, which felt perfect!

Prime rib afterwards!

Birthday dinner for my father in law.

Casting on some grey separates for baby, and meeting up with Rebecca for lunch at the new Valley Goat by Stephanie Izard.

Jeri came over to organize and help donate/give away/sell all of my extra stuff! Here she’s doing my crafts, but she also did all of my clothes and other things too. She thinks it’s fun! This woman is incredible!

Birth center tour! And dinner with Stephanie and James, who were in town for the Stray Kids concert.

More yarn for my projects (left) and Cassie’s projects (right). Plus Girls’ massage day!

Front row to Hillary Hahn at the SF Symphony.

Tasty pop ups at Golden Goat Coffee. I think this was Lunar Bakeshop?

Chronicle Books’ annual 80% off warehouse sale. We got a whole bunch of stuff for free and very cheap!

Vince made us kong xin cai and sticky rice. Very delicious.

And a couple videochats from the month– my regular check-in with Tiffany in Sydney.

And a meeting about TAF Hubs, as I am now leading SF Bay Area for the TAF alumni network!
