Raquel & Andy | Lullwater Park | Atlanta Engagement Photography
They share a love of travel and are often seeking new adventures. When they set out to go hiking in Argentine Patagonia, Raquel thought a proposal might be in the works, but she knew the custom ring they had gone shopping for couldn’t be ordered in time, so she let her suspicions slide. And then, in front of the amazing Perito Moreno glacier, Andy proposed. No, he didn’t have the custom engagement ring, but he had his Harvard class ring, and it was exactly what he needed to surprise Raquel– no easy feat!
Raquel and Andy were gracious hosts in Atlanta (how lucky was I to have two engaged couples who both live in Atlanta!). I had fun playing “fashion show” with them to pick out these outfits for the shoot, and I also got to witness their witty, sarcastic banter with one another and even watch some unique strategies in a game or two of Super Mario Bros. For their engagement session we headed to Lullwater Conservation Park on Emory University’s campus, which was filled with lush greenery and even a bridge and a waterfall too.
Of course, there is one more person I must mention– Talya! If you are a loyal blog reader, you may find that Raquel looks oh so familiar, because she is in fact Talya’s sister. Who’s Talya? She’s probably appeared on my website more than any other person, and she was also the one who enthusiastically referred Raquel my way as soon as she found out about the engagement. So yes, much love to Talya. I’m very thankful to have such great friends and supporters!
I just love the serenity by this small river.
Rawr catwalk!
These two might be my favorites from the shoot!
Raquel and Andy, thanks again for a great time in Atlanta! It was wonderful getting to know you both, and I am very much looking forward to our next adventure together– a wedding adventure in Chautauqua, New York!
