Susan & Peter | Chapel Hill | North Carolina Wedding Photography

Anyone who plans for an outdoor wedding is apt to keep an eye on the storm clouds, but on the morning of Susan and Peter’s wedding, as the rain was still sprinkling down, they simply ran through two ceremony scenarios– indoor and outdoor– and did it all with a smile on their faces, not wasting a worry on the weather. And sure enough, just as many friends and strangers had prophesied the day before, the clouds got up and left, leaving behind nothing but warmth and sunshine.

Just seeing Susan and Peter together brings warmth to the soul. They have a magical way of surrounding everyone in love, laughter, and a dose of calm with them wherever they go. It was an immense privilege to be in North Carolina for this entire wedding weekend and to witness this special day.

Susan got ready in her tea length dress at home with her parents.

And then we headed to the farm at Snipes Farm Retreat for the bride and groom’s “first look.”

It’s as if these doors were custom made to fit these two!

The bridesmaids wore their own colorful dresses, and the groomsmen were decked in grays.

Almost everything about this wedding was DIY, from the wildflower bouquets to the programs and decorations to the wedding cakes.

I love that they used a children’s book as their guest book.

Susan and Peter’s corgi puppy Puck was quite dapper in his suit and tie.

Doesn’t this look like the perfect tree to get married under?

Yifan walked Puck down the aisle. I think they both enjoyed it thoroughly.

The delicious catering was from Mediterranean Deli in downtown Chapel Hill.

And all varieties of dessert were provided by family and friends.

Congratulations, Susan & Peter! Thank you so, so much for having me at your beautiful wedding weekend.
