Valentine’s Day with Hawthorn Flower Studio
What’s one to do when she’s dumped by her boyfriend of almost two years just one week after her birthday and two weeks before Valentine’s Day? Well, hanging out at her friend’s adorable pop-up flower shop is not a bad place to start. I don’t have much to say about my breakup or my ex. But I will say this: I still love love. I believe in the wonder of love, and the fact that it didn’t work out for me this time only further shows how incredible it really is that I regularly photograph people who have found each other, love each other, and pledge the rest of their lives to each other. I am often reminded how lucky I am to have this as my life’s work.
But enough about that. Let’s talk about Melanie and her gorgeous floral creations. I first met Melanie when we worked together on a wedding last year. When she asked me to take photos of her Valentine’s pop-up shop, I happily obliged. Melanie (Hawthorn Flower Studio) teamed up with Four Barrel Coffee to host temporary flower stands at both their shop on Valencia and at The Mill on Divsadero. I checked out the latter.
The adorable vintage cart is from Pieces by Violet.
Paper cut artist Bianca Levan also sold some cute heart-shaped cards.
Some lovely arrangements in the gorgeous white-tiled space inside The Mill!
It was so much fun to stop by and indulge in a bit of prettiness. We should all be so lucky as to love and be loved whether we have that ‘special someone’ or not. =)
