Bethany & Bryan | San Francisco Surprise Proposal Photography
I absolutely loved this surprise proposal! It was such a rainy day that Bryan wasn’t sure he would be able to propose outside by the Golden Gate Bridge as he hoped. We planned a rain contingency and a contingency for that contingency. But when the time came, the rain held off and we had a perfectly foggy, dramatic backdrop for this proposal, with everything going perfectly. Read on for Bethany’s perspective on the day!
From Bethany: “After exploring the Ferry Building in the morning and apartment searching in the rain, Bryan told me he wanted to go see a place called Crissy Field. We arrived just in time for the rain to stop and to take a walk on the beach. All I remember is that his hand started to shake and he was talking about our future. He turned towards me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. It was such a surprise and shock, but saying yes came naturally.
Since everything happened so fast, I didn’t notice that someone was taking pictures of us for quite a while. Bryan introduced me to Anna, our photographer, and we got to enjoy the moment with a mini photo-shoot. It was such a wonderful way to celebrate our new engagement. Anna did such a good job of making me feel at ease and letting us revel in the moment. By the end of the shoot, she felt like an old friend.”
I absolutely loved Bethany’s genuine reactions! These two grew up in the same town in West Virginia, but their paths never crossed until years later when they met at a mutual friend’s wedding. They’ve been dating long distance ever since and will finally be living together starting this summer in San Francisco!
Congratulations, Bethany & Bryan! Such a beautiful proposal and a beautiful love story.
