12 Hours in Boston
This was a super quick visit to Boston. We drove about seven hours from Buffalo, since Justin had to be in Cambridge for work on Monday. We arrived in Cambridge around 2am and left again that evening to drive another five hours back to Philadelphia. Whirlwind trip, but still wonderful for me anyway! While Justin was at work, I met some friends for afternoon tea and explored a new (to me) museum.
First of all, the beautiful Boston Public Library. Did you know you can have afternoon tea there? I knew I had to go as soon as I found out.
Love the use of books and newspaper clippings!
We caught Emily just before her shift as Chief Resident at Tufts, and I made Debo join us for this tea party too. We just caught him a week before he was moving out to Seattle!
Yes, I love beautiful libraries.
In the afternoon, I paid a visit to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Such a beautiful flora-filled courtyard!
I enjoyed the eclectic art, with some of Isabella’s collections dating back to medieval times, and modern galleries that were created for the museum just a couple years ago. I would love to be able to sketch like this! What a cool way to capture daily musings.
Back across the river to Cambridge. A berry cheesecake from Tatte and awesome Asian tourists outside MIT.
Finally, we met up with Reagan, who had just moved from Philly a few months ago. Their two pups were excited to see us!
Bye Boston! Maybe I’ll stay a few more days next time!
