Tulips in Holland

|

Tulips galore! Fuzzy tulips, striped tulips, huge dinner plate-sized tulips, and tulips masquerading as peonies. We purposely timed our visit to Holland with the end of April to catch all the tulips in bloom. It was an easy day trip from Amsterdam to visit the gardens at Keukenhof and the surrounding fields. Keukenhof is only open two months of the year for tulip season. We visited the gardens first and then rented bikes to go ride around the tulip fields that dot the surrounding area. I only wish we had more time for the bikes and fields! But here are some of the colorful scenes from the day.

Love the texture on this one!

These two-color striations are created by introducing a virus!

These tulips look like garden roses or peonies.

I wore my floral Keds specifically so I could take these photos, haha. Enjoy, my feet saying hello to tulips!

After visiting Keukenhof, we headed to the parking lot where they have a bike rental stand and some recommended routes that will take you into the surrounding tulip fields.
