Scottsdale, Arizona

|

The finale of Anna and Amy’s Arizona Adventures is here! And it’s Scottsdale, the city we actually stayed in all three nights. We kick it off with some explorations of Scottsdale on Thursday night. First, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA). Here’s a James Turrell skyspace similar to the one you can find at the DeYoung in San Francisco.

Tops chairs! We meet again!

And then a mini art crawl.

The artist of the hay bale paintings layers oil paints and lets them dry and then cuts them, piece by piece, into 3d pieces of hay. Incredible.

Sunset along the river from the Soleri Bridge.

Our cute little airbnb. Cacti everywhere, of course.

The prettiest hotel just around the corner from us: The Scott Resort and Spa, with the Canal Club restaurant inside.

So good.

Just hotel hopping. Next: The Saguaro Scottsdale.

And a bit of Old Town shopping.

And one final hotel for the visit: Hotel Valley Ho.

Thank you so much for the amazing adventures, Arizona. It was truly a pleasure. And thank you to Amy for being such a perfect, complementary travel buddy! Recap the rest of our series below.
