Chicago
We had a very brief double visit to Chicago, since we flew in and out of the city to attend the Taiwanese American Foundation summer camp in Indiana. So we were in town for just one night before camp and one night after. Here’s a look at our very brief visits to this very nice (very hot) summer city.
A quick visit to Lake Michigan, but it was too hot to stay long.
A good indoor activity: a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art, featuring a big Nick Cave exhibit.
A casual-looking photograph, completely staged.
We stayed at the 21C Museum Hotel Chicago, since we’ve had fun visiting their mini chain in Cincinnati, Lexington, and Louisville.
Summertime along the Chicago Riverwalk.
Drinks at the TimeOut Market
Girl & the Goat for dinner.
Saying farewell to the 21C for now… only to return again a week later.
Part two of our Chicago stay, dinner at Purple Pig.
The first time, the 21C was under construction and installing a new gallery. This time we got to check it out.
Brunch over at the RH in the Gold Coast.
Observation tower time, atop the Hancock building.
Back in the 21C, I got to meet artist Michelle Hartney and help stitch a little bit of her Unplanned Parenthood project.
And then we had to jet off to the airport!
It was a very brief but lovely time in Chicago.
