A Napa Minimoon
A couple weeks after we were married, we went on an impromptu mini honeymoon in Napa! I had booked a photo session in Yountville, so Alex seized the opportunity to turn it into a little staycation while we were up there. What a special privilege to be able to hang out in wine country over the quiet winter season, wandering around town and walking in to world-class restaurants on a whim.
We kicked it off with a Thomas Keller classic, Bouchon Bistro.
Such a wonderful retreat at the Alila Resort.
We were the only people who attended the free yoga sessions during our stay… we didn’t really see other guests at all. December in Napa, y’all!
Loved this porch – firepit situation. The resort looks out onto Beringer Vineyards.
Oprah’s favorite English muffins, of course!
Lunch at Charter Oak
I guess this wine barrel tree is a thing!
Christmas in the shops of St. Helena.
I spy Frankie Gaw’s cookbook!
Designer hatchets.
Sunset over the vines.
Dinner on site at the hotel’s restaurant, Acacia House. The receipt comes in a big cookbook that all guests can sign! Guess we’ll have to go back to look for our signature next time.
Mailing our wedding thank yous from this very adorable post office!
Mini farmers market at Long Meadow Ranch,
followed by lunch at their restaurant
A funny wintertime activity, but we just got free passes to Mr. Wilkinson’s in Calistoga, so why not check out their hot spring pools? Luckily they were nicely heated.
A little walkabout in Calistoga
And finally, a visit to Ashes & Diamonds.
Cheers! Thank you to my husband for this very wonderful little retreat!
