Bay Area | November, 2024
November recap! We begin with pizza at Rose’s in the Mission.
Cassie came over for a first-time knitting tutorial. Just in time for her to work at polls on election day.
A special meal at Rintaro for their 10-year anniversary, featuring house-made soba
Cassie and I visited Nancy at her coworking space inside the Ferry Building (beautiful!)
And then we dropped in on the Mahjong games organized in the Ferry Building each week. I brought my handmade San Francisco-themed set, and it attracted plenty of visitors from the other nearby tables. One of the people at our table showed us the Transamerica & Karl the Fog halloween costumes he and his partner wore for Halloween, haha. So cute.
More knitting.
Thanksgiving is approaching, and the Fishers are visiting from Australia!
Kicking off Section 2 of the Crosstown Trail with an SF Restaurant Week visit to Rabbit Hole, our favorite Taiwanese-inspired restaurant in Bernal.
All you can eat crab for Bettina’s birthday!
A ladies’ afternoon tea at Malaya Tea in Alameda for Cassie’s baby shower.
Dia de los Muertos at the San Francisco Symphony.
With a beautiful performance by Itzhak Perlman and friends (Emmanuel Ax, the Juilliard String Quartet, Jean-Yves Thibaudet).
Our quarterly friends’ date at House of Prime Rib!
It’s always so wonderful to share and hear everyone’s news each quarter.
Klay Thompson returns to the Bay… now as a Maverick, playing against the Warriors for the first time.
Jeri, Cassie, and I did one of Cassie’s bucket list items for 2024 and made a tufted rug.
So fun!
Drive-by rainbows.
Noe Valley wanderings.
Pasta at Penny Roma.
With a visit to Heath Ceramics and Sightglass Coffee afterwards.
A little embroidery project for Chelsea’s Secret Santa gift.
Group outing to see Wicked!
Making milk buns for Friendsgiving
We always have quite the spread.
Such a wonderful group. Thank you to Chelsea and Sean for hosting!
Time for presents!
Visiting my friends at the craft fair! Felicia Liang; Jane Li.
And running into various friends too.
Cousins’ Thanksgiving. Featuring Albert’s very weird Doritos liquor.
Actual Thanksgiving, with the Garrisons! Haha.
We got a very fancy takeout Thanksgiving Kamayan feast from Abaca.
Fun!
And lunch with the in-laws, extended family edition.
Then we assembled some gift baskets and pastries and drove on down to Los Angeles for Second Thanksgiving at the Yauhaus!
Lots of smog from Central California agricultural crop burning. But the wildfires would come later. :(
Cheers to another heartwarming, abundant month full of gatherings!
