Priyanka & Karthik | Mehendi, Pellikuthuru, & Sangeet | Indian Wedding Photography
Priyanka and Karthik were wed in a spectacular Indian wedding that spanned four days and two states! I am happy to share the first three days of the wedding below, and the main ceremony and reception day will be in a second post to follow. We start at Priyanka’s family home in Indiana with the Mehendi and Pellikuthuru, or turmeric ceremony.
Such beautiful and elaborate henna! If you look really, really carefully, the groom’s name is hidden in the pattern somewhere on her palms.
The next day, the Pellikuthuru, or turmeric ceremony with the bride and her family.
Offerings and blessings.
Afterwards, a rose water ceremony.
Then after a shower and outfit change, more blessings were granted.
On Friday night, it was time to head in to Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier, Chicago for the Sangeet, or the big reception and party complete with dance and musical performances the night before the main wedding day.
More henna artists were on hand to provide henna for all the guests.
Then it was time to settle in for the performances of the night.

The bride and her brother performed a little piece together.
And then Priyanka performed a compilation piece of her past dance performances.
