Helen & Ian | Sea Ranch Maternity Portraits

On a map, Sea Ranch doesn’t look all that far from San Francisco. Follow the edge of California northward, and it looks like you could hop right over to this section of the coastline in an hour or two. But of course, it’s actually quite a journey, as you follow the winding roads through valleys and along the Pacific Coast highway. Three hours and a whole world later, you’ll find yourself in this idyllic coastal neighborhood designed back in the sixties and seventies. Sea Ranch has long been a meaningful place for Helen and Ian, as they’ve vacationed here together for years and even got engaged nearby. And now, after a long journey, they are getting ready to welcome a baby to their family. It was such an honor to travel here and to document this special moment in this special place for them.

The funniest member of this portrait session was Stevie the dog. Look for her below, hidden like a little safari animal in the tall grass, haha.
