Lauren | Mood Shoots | Editorial Portrait Photography

Welcome to my latest personal project, a series of “mood shoots.” For these shoots, I wanted to explore a certain look and feel in my portraiture, working with light and shadow, styling, and directing. As with all my personal projects, I just sort of dream up these ideas and form a vision in my mind, and then it’s all about execution and letting them take on a life of their own.

I first met Lauren when she participated in one of my shoots for the Pointe of View ballerina series, and I approached her to do another shoot– this time without the ballet theme, but with a lot of room for creativity. We met just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. The wind was cranked to full power, but the resulting images were totally worth the chill. See a small selection of my favorites below:
