Philly | August, 2017

|

I spent most of August in Philadelphia, with watercolor sketches, lots of delicious eats, summer sun, and an eclipse! See below.

Partial eclipse! With my cardboard viewer I rigged up that morning.

A whole fish from somewhere in Chinatown; Luke’s Lobster; Que Chula Es Puebla; Kensington Quarters; Double Knot with Austin & Sheena; Spot Burger; and beef noodle soup from Ray’s Cafe.

Hammock time!

Best pho ga I’ve ever had! With Jeremy and Amy.

And my new favorite restaurant in Philly (second time eating here): Talula’s Garden.

Finally, I made my first watercolor commission for my friend Elica, who’s expecting a baby girl in a couple months! She wanted a quartet of images for the nursery: Vietnamese Ao Dai and Irish clovers for her husband’s heritage; a scene from Udaipur for her Indian heritage; and Locust Walk at UPenn, representing their time together in Philly.
