Bay Area Adventures | August, 2018
The months keep flying by. Here’s a look back at August in the Bay. We start it off with our Office of Accountability meeting, this time at Eileen’s place in San Francisco.
Delicious snacks, always.
My aunt and cousin were still in town from last month. My aunt has always loved Snoopy for as long as I can remember, so I took them on a surprise trip to the Charles Schultz museum. My aunt even unknowingly wore a Snoopy sweatshirt and had her Snoopy phone cover too.
CHEESE.
Over at my apartment, a little musical instrument playtime.
Lunch at Teni East Kitchen.
Then I headed to San Jose to watch a performance by the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra of music by the late composer Tyzen Hsiao, known as the Rachmaninoff of Taiwan. His piano concerto was indeed very Rachmaninoff-like, as promised!
Pauline’s parents sang in the choir as part of the performance! And then I met up with Dan for dinner afterwards.
The next day, the musical fun continues with the Piedmont Chamber Music Festival. Click here to read my interview on TaiwaneseAmerican.org with Juliana and Wayne, the cofounders of the festival.
Me, Juliana, Theresa.
Howard was in town from Australia! And Connie was in town from Orange County!
Craft Day is back. I think everyone else was just eating, but I finished the third of my three t-shirt quilts! The first one was Duke-themed; the second was a bit more mixed, from elementary through college with lots of orchestra shirts; and this third one is Taiwanese-themed.
Post-shoot caviar (and delicious meal) at Ad Hoc with Isabella & Hugh after their Yountville engagement session.
Paint date at Pam’s.
We picked some her gigantic lemons from the tree outside and made lemonade!
And then it was time to go watch Crazy Rich Asians in the theater! I had already seen it in a pre-screening in June, but seeing it on opening night was a whole new experience. I loved it even more the second time… And I’ve since seen it a third time already too.
Pre-movie dinner at Delarosa.
Do-Hee & Josh.
Our Crazy Rich Asians crew.
The ladies.
A quick meetup with Pam to shop this pop-up sale and grab some coffee. I picked up two of these $1 lanterns!
Artichoke bread! I made a special stop by Arcangeli’s Grocery in Pescadero before my shoot at Harley Goat Farms just to make sure I had a loaf of this to take home. And I gifted my second photographer a loaf to take home too! #foodperks.
Then, I hosted a little work date at my apartment. I stacked my coffee table (which I made!) full of tasty things.
Shenanigans!
And that concludes August, 2018. On to the next!
