Margaret & Lance | Legion of Honor | San Francisco Wedding Photography
Margaret and Lance are both incredibly sweet and are secretly goofballs on the inside. They’ve been together for five years, with plenty of adventures in that time. They especially love national parks and got engaged at Glacier National Park last year. They decided to be wed at the ever-elegant Legion of Honor, an art museum on the western edge of San Francisco. See some of the highlights below!
Margaret began the day getting ready at the Inn at the Presidio with her bridesmaids and the two mothers in tow.

True to Taiwanese/Chinese tradition, the groom and his groomsmen had to endure a bit of hazing in a set of “door games” in order to earn the right to reach his bride. First they gave the ladies a red envelope to pay their way in the door.
Then they had to drink samples of various flavors to represent the various flavors of marriage: sweet, bitter, sour, spicy.
Next, Lance had to answer questions about Margaret, and when he got them even slightly wrong, push-ups were owed.
Then they had to figure out how to pass an orange from groomsman to groomsman without it touching the floor and without using their hands. This was the approach they went with.
And finally, Lance had to write a note professing his love for Margaret, which she listened to from the bathroom (where she was hiding the whole time) and had to approve or reject for more revisions.
Listening for Margaret’s approval through the bathroom door!
This is the first time I’ve had the first look happen in the bathroom, but it was delightful.
Then they had a quick tea ceremony for each of the parents.
And we were off to the Legion of Honor!
This was a candid moment of the groomsmen pondering the thinker. We didn’t tell them to stand like that!
They had a lovely, simple setup for the ceremony in the courtyard.
Cocktail hour was inside the museum, with a reception in the cafe. I love that their tables were national park-themed!
Congratulations, Margaret & Lance!
