Bay Area Adventures | November, 2019
The last couple months have been very packed with travels! But we’re catching up now with the November Bay Area recap! First, dinner at the new, much-lauded Nari. Very delicious, and a beautiful space inside Hotel Kabuki.
Alex’s monthly wine club pickup! And a visit to Heath Ceramics.
Watched the movie Parasite with Dan and Paul and grabbed ramen afterwards.
Winter refresh of the garden.
The view of SF City Hall from Davies Symphony Hall!
I attended Ray Chen’s recital with my cousin Theresa.
New brewery opening in Mission Bay: Seven Stills.
Do-Hee’s legendary corn dog-themed 30th birthday party! Complete with full-sized Dole Whip machine.
Cassie the corn dog apprentice learning the frying techniques from Josh.
They were legit the best corn dogs I’ve ever had!
Birthday girl!
Strawberry chiffon cake homemade by Cassie!
Then Do-Hee started running around her garden handing out party favors…
… like bouquets of mint and stacks of perilla leaves.
Afterparty dinner at Dumpling Time Express.
The brand new Sunday farmer’s market at Chase Center! It’s tiny but wonderful, and hopefully it just grows over time.
Cassie and Michael went crabbing twice in Pacifica but didn’t come back with crabs either time, so we decided to buy crabs from the market instead for a crab dinner… but the market didn’t have any to sell either. So, lobster dinner instead!
An excursion to the Oakland Museum of California’s exhibit about the art of Burning Man.
It almost made us all want to go to Burning Man for the art… but maybe not actually for the rest of the scene.
Then it was time for our annual Office of Accountability Friendsgiving! Thank you Courtney & Jackson for hosting us again.
Cranberry brie tarts by Chelsea.
Stephanie’s cheese board masterpiece under way. And Sean’s wine that he made!
Then it was time for our Secret Santa gift exchange for those who chose to participate.
Cassie got Courtney these very apropos socks: Pay Me. Along with a bunch of flaming hot cheetos.
An advent calendar for Meg’s cat from Lindsey. A perfect beaded clutch for Eileen from Meg.
A wooden culinary stick for Lindsey from Chelsea– we found ourselves sitting nearly in the order of gifting when we went around the circle. And I got Stephanie a ball of yarn, tiny frames for a gallery of her Southwest photos since she mentioned wanting to frame them but having no wall space left, and a puzzle mat which she just mentioned while we were at the museum the day before.
Many laughs and smiles all around!
And of course our full group photo. Three years running!
And finally, to top off the month before running off to Australia, a dinner with Amy…
…and a brunch with Whitney!
Such a happy month, yet again! See you soon in the next one.
