Oahu, Hawaii

|

On Christmas Day we flew from Maui over to Oahu for part two of our Hawaii vacation. We stayed with our friends Crystal and Chris near Diamond Head and circled the whole island seeing the beautiful sights and eating all the delicious things. This was my first time on Oahu, and I would definitely come back!

Our first stop: spam musubis. Then the next morning we awoke to malasadas from Leonard’s, thanks to Crystal’s mom who picked up a whole box for us!

Tour around the island.

A cove where they filmed Pirates of the Carribbean, plus the Halona Blowhole.

Dole Plantation for some Dole whip!

A very, very long wait for Giovanni’s shrimp truck. I would not recommend visiting Hawaii between Christmas and New Year. Every place had way too many people. The shrimp was delicious though! And shave ice from Matsumoto’s.

Ahi Assassins poke, brought back to Crystal’s house for some poolside dining.

Marukame Udon.

More goodies thanks to Crystal’s mom: Honolulu Cookie Company.

Plus all the fruits! oranges, pears, and papayas.

Hawaiian fast food from Zippy’s to bring on our hike.

We hiked up to the lighthouse at Makupu’u…

And then we scrambled down the cliff to make it all the way down to the tide pools down below! They’re big enough for you to swim in. This was the highlight of our trip. We all had swimsuits on and took a dip in the pools with the fishes.

Such a fun experience. And a look back up the cliff that we came down.

Afterwards, acai bowls from da Cove Health Bar.

On to Waikiki.

Drinks at House Without A Key.

Final day in Hawaii! A hike up Diamond Head.

Rainbow!

Favorite meal of the trip (although everything was delicious). Koko Head Cafe.

Lanikai Beach.

And last but not least, a dinner with Crystal’s family!

Thank you so much for hosting us, Crystal & Chris! I had such a wonderful time in Hawaii!
