Providence & Newport, Rhode Island | Travel Photography
I had an absolutely beautiful June weekend in Rhode Island. I had never been to Rhode Island, but I was so excited to be there for Mairin and Nikhil’s wedding festivities. We stayed in Providence the first night and then joined the wedding guests in the seaside town of Newport.
Day one, Kevin went for a run at Roger Williams Park, which was a nice introduction to Providence.
For dinner, we headed to Federal Hill, the historic Italian part of town.
Cannolis and tarts from Pastiche for dessert!
The next day, we crossed over the bridge to Newport.
Lobster rolls were first on the agenda:
And then we went for a walk by the beach, which was right across from our hotel.
We met up with our friend Jon, who happened to be in Rhode Island for his final weekend before moving to Miami. I hadn’t seen him in years and years!
Our mini TAF reunion:
We took a lovely stroll along the Cliff Walk, which is a scenic trail that gives you ocean views to the left and mansion views to the right.
And yes, there are a lot of crazy gorgeous mansions in Newport!
Most of these are now historic landmarks that have tours open to the public.
The beach was a rather kelpy mess.
But it was such a lovely treat to take a break from the Pacific and hang out by the Atlantic!
Newport is such a lovely town for a vacation. Thanks again to Mairin and Nikhil for the opportunity to visit Rhode Island! I have the best job in the world.
