Pre & Nav | Pigeon Point Lighthouse Engagement

| |

It was so fun to photograph this engagement-turned-surprise-proposal for Pre and Nav.

Earlier this year, Nav asked Pre to marry him, and she joyfully said yes. It was a beautiful, if low-key proposal, given the circumstances of the pandemic. As they planned for their engagement portraits with me, Nav decided that he would love to use the occasion to surprise Pre with a second proposal, with the full setup he had wanted for her. We worked with Rachael of Ruby and Rose to design a beautiful beachside picnic, and Morgan of Prim Event Studio expertly styled the scene.

I greeted the couple as they arrived at the beautiful Pigeon Point Lighthouse in Pescadero. Pre was wearing a sari as Nav led her down the stairs to the beach, and there Pre discovered the surprise picnic setup for her, featuring all her favorites (including Cheeseboard pizza!).

In front of Pigeon Point Lighthouse and right by the water, Nav asked her to marry him again, but this time in his mother dialect, chattgaiyya: ‘Tui are biye goribe na?’ She had a big smile and said in broken chattgaiyya, “koribarlai” (rough translation: ‘in order to do it’ but she meant Yes!).

So, so sweet. I love all the personally meaningful details of this proposal! ISFP and Shukno pata (‘shaking leaf’) are the couple’s nicknames for each other.

Afterwards, we were treated to a beautiful sunset as we grabbed more portraits around the area.

Congratulations, Pre & Nav! This was such a beautiful harbor amidst chaotic times.
