A Day in Santa Barbara
Back in June, Alex and I decided to take a little road trip down through Southern California, with Channel Islands National Park as the primary destination, and of course lots of other fun towns and delicious food along the way. The first day of the road trip was spent in Santa Barbara, and we also explored a bit of the city on the way back in the end.
First, a stop in San Luis Obispo for the tri tip sandwich from Firestone Grill.
Dinner in Santa Barbara at Loquita. Very tasty, and a very lovely, built-out outdoor courtyard!
I always love a good paella.
The next morning, donuts from Hook & Press.
A little walk about town.
Lunch at La Super-Rica
And after an afternoon jaunt inland (very, very hot), we were back downtown for dinner at Arigato Sushi– my primary request was to get some Santa Barbara uni.
Day two was spent out in Channel Islands via Ventura, so then we were back on Day three, coming back up on our way back to the Bay. We decided to explore the Funk Zone and all the cute little shops in that neighborhood.
And finally, on our way out of town, stopping by The Cold Spring Tavern for another tri tip sandwich.
And the trip ended up in an In-N-Out parking lot where we, extremely dedicated Chinese school students as we are, attended class from inside our car.
Stay tuned to see the other legs of this quick but packed little weekend getaway!
