Solvang & Santa Barbara | California Coasting, Part 5

|

Solvang. It’s a little Danish town in California somewhere between San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. This was my fourth stop on day two of my solo road trip. There are plenty of bakeries and windmills to go around, and the town also got a little feature in the movie Sideways.

I also happened to be there on the day of the farmer’s market, so I purchased a bit of local organic olive oil and a little basket of delicious pluots to take with me.

Next, it was off to Santa Barbara.

My first stop in Santa Barbara: Alice Keck Park. I quickly saw why people had been telling me that Santa Barbara is so nice that it’s almost too nice.

I took a walk down State Street, and I discovered a Yogurtland. Naturally, I had to have some.

I made a palm tree collection:

Finally, I had really delicious dinner at Opal. (Thanks for the rec, Karen!) And then it was off to Ventura for the night.
