Have I mentioned how much I love photographing surprise proposals? This one was such a treat. Derrick lives in the Philippines while his girlfriend Vanessa lives here in California, so he planned the proposal from afar, including meeting me over videochat to discuss the details. Both their families were there as part of Derrick’s visit…
I absolutely loved this surprise proposal! It was such a rainy day that Bryan wasn’t sure he would be able to propose outside by the Golden Gate Bridge as he hoped. We planned a rain contingency and a contingency for that contingency. But when the time came, the rain held off and we had a…
Let’s take a little peek into Teance, a store in Berkeley’s West 4th shopping district. The store sells a variety of single-origin teas sourced from Asia. In the center is a round table where you can order full tea tastings, and in the back is a small cafe area with seating upstairs. We sampled a green…
Asha Tea House in Berkeley has long been one of my favorite tea spots, so I was excited to see that they opened a new location in San Francisco a few months ago. My friend Saira and I hopped over for a tea date one afternoon. Most orders at Asha are just handed over…
Packaging, packaging! Now is the perfect time of year to update and restock on all my packaging and collateral for upcoming wedding season. I tried out some new duplex business cards with a deep purple backing and gold foil + letterpress on the front. And I was gifted a new set of USB drives from USB…
I love the wave of cat cafes that seem to be opening all around the country (and the world). When my friend Saira asked if I wanted to check out Kit Tea in San Francisco, I jumped on it! To be honest, I’m more of a dog person, but I was still intrigued by the prospect…
On a lovely December day, I met up with my friend Saira for afternoon tea at Tal-y-Tara in the Richmond District of San Francisco. Tal-y-Tara is a unique combination of tea shop and polo shop– and it’s not just the decor. They actually sell plenty of stuff for all your equestrian needs. It was a fun, eclectic…
I’ve known how to knit and crochet since elementary school, and it’s often been a fun hobby to keep myself occupied in the winter. But about a year ago, I started to think it might be fun to turn this solitary activity into a club. So in February, I started it up: the Old Ladies’…
‘Tis the season for a nice cozy cup of tea! My friend Saira has the best tea-filled instagram @darjeelingdreams. We met up on a Friday afternoon for some tea at one of her favorite spots, Lovejoy’s. Love! Such cute mismatched tea wares. I loved Saira’s hazelnut tea, and my mango was great too. The perfect…
It was a fun day filled with sly Star Wars references set against beautiful California backdrops. Serena and Cliff share a love (some might call it an obsession) for Star Wars. Their dogs are named R2D2 and Leia. All the groomsmen wore Stormtrooper socks under their dapper gray suits. They even had a little light saber fight with their…
Oh no! On their way to the ceremony, Jessica and Young got swept away into a portal and became hostages of a wizard who hates love. In order to rescue them, their friends and family would need to solve a series of puzzles, prove their love for the couple, and defeat the wizard’s spell! So began this very…
It was such a special treat to return to this beautiful Sunol home and photograph my second wedding there. My first wedding at the house was for Bryna’s brother Ryan in 2011. This time, I got to meet and work with Bryna and her groom Andrew. Bryna and Andrew have been together for twelve years, and over half of that was…
