Win Son x Boba Guys | SF & NYC

|

I have a long-running relationship (ok, it’s an obsession) with Boba Guys. Thanks to my Taiwanese American connections, I met the owners Andrew and Bin back in their early days, and I’ve been a loyal patron of their pop-ups and stores in both SF and NYC ever since. Recently, we doubled up on the Taiwanese American foodie fun when Boba Guys teamed up Win Son, a Taiwanese American restaurant in Brooklyn, for a San Francisco pop-up featuring delicious fried chicken sandwiches. And then, three weeks later, I made the voyage over to Brooklyn to check out Win Son in person. So here goes – a coast to coast collaboration between Boba Guys and Win Son, with lots of deliciousness and great company along the way.

Meet Josh and Trigg, owners of Win Son.

And Andrew & Bin, owners of Boba Guys.

Delicious juicy fried chicken fashioned into a sandwich on a pineapple bun. So good.

Thanks for the shirt Andrew! And here’s Ho Chie giving his sandwich the thumbs up. Ho Chie is really the reason I know anyone in the Taiwanese community.

And then we jet across the country to NYC a couple weeks later, whereupon Justin and I stumbled upon Boba Guys without even looking for it! It’s inside the Canal Street Market, if you do want to visit yourself. Love the market, by the way — bought a necklace there too!

And finally, a reunion with some Taiwanese American friends at Win Son in Brooklyn.

Delicious soy milk + Taiwan Beer.

Yum! I definitely recommend going with a group so you can try more dishes. I wish I took notes, but now I don’t know which of these dishes is which. Everything really was delicious though.

More food!

And then Evy unintentionally made a Taiwan Beer float when her mantou- ice cream escaped her fork.

Squad!

Visit Win Son in Brooklyn, and Boba Guys in both San Francisco and NYC. Thanks Taiwanese American fam! Great to see such wonderful, delicious successes out there in the world.
