Sea of Lights | Pointe of View

Pointe of View is a personal project I started at the end of 2011. I had just finished my wedding season, and as much as I love weddings (and I really do), I really wanted to step into something else. Something different. Something creatively challenging. I had done ballet briefly as a child, just long enough to get on pointe, and then we moved and I stopped altogether.  I have always loved the aesthetic, the discipline, the challenge of expression through tightly regulated form. And so I found my project.

In under a year, I have photographed fourteen dancers in almost as many cities, from San Francisco to Chicago to New York and even in the countryside of Ireland. And there are still more shoots to come. For now, I’ll be posting one Pointe of View image every Monday. You can also check out more featured images and purchase limited edition prints from the Pointe of View store.

Even in a sea of lights, you shine brightest.
