Kelly & Jeff | Los Altos History Museum Wedding

In many ways it seems that the universe has long been conspiring to bring Kelly and Jeff together, and yet it took a long, long time for them to actually find each other, and longer still for them to realize they should be more than friends. Kelly and Jeff share so many of the same interests. They both attended the same college, and they were both specifically mallet percussionists in the same band. They were involved in the same social orgs and helped organize the same big annual event. They even lived in the same house. But alas, the catch was that they were five years apart, and so they never did these things at the same time! It wasn’t until after they had both moved to the Bay Area that they met through mutual friends. And it was many years and a pandemic later before they finally gathered the courage to go on a date. Luckily, the rest has gone beautifully ever since.

It was a gorgeous, warm day on the Peninsula when Kelly and Jeff got married in their home church in Palo Alto and celebrated with a reception in the verdant garden of the Los Altos History Museum. At long last, this journey of coincidence and missed connections was firmly knotted in a lifelong bond.

Jeff’s mother made this lovely cross-stitch for the couple, in Kelly’s favorite color, purple. Her engagement ring also features a purple Alexandrite stone, and Jeff has a matching sliver of Alexandrite in his wedding band as well.

I love the parallel rituals of each partner getting ready for the day. Jeff got ready with his parents in their hotel suite, while Kelly got ready with her family in the couple’s home.

Kelly’s mom helped her to add her grandparents’ wedding rings to the bouquet, pinned to a swatch of her mother’s wedding dress.

A very sweet first look at the Lucie Stern Community Center in Palo Alto, where Jeff has worked as a stage hand.

The ceremony was at Kelly’s church, the First Lutheran Church of Palo Alto.

Then guests moved to the lovely Los Altos History Museum for cocktail hour and the reception.

I loved the Malletmen musicians that Kelly and Jeff hired for cocktail hour– the perfect tribute to their own shared history at mallet percussionists!

A beautiful wedding for a wonderful couple. Congratulations, Kelly & Jeff!
