Chicago | Summer, 2016
I love a good summertime jaunt to the windy city. This Chicago trip I got to attend a wedding; photograph an engagement; check out two art museums; and hang out with old friends, three of whom also just happened to be in town for unrelated reasons that weekend. See some favorite snapshots below.
Some friends brought us to this hidden gem, the Three Arts Club Cafe, which is a beautiful restaurant set inside a Restoration Hardware showroom. Sadly the wait was too long so we went elsewhere, but I’ll definitely be back for a meal the next time I’m in Chicago.
Back in Wicker Park, checking out cute shops and of course hitting up my favorite- Jeni’s Ice Cream!
Small Cheval with friends.
Board game time! Code Names is our new favorite. So much thinking, but still so simple.
The next morning we headed to the Chicago Art Institute and caught a glimpse of the bride and groom before the wedding.
Also saw the iconic “American Gothic” painting, which I recreated at another wedding.
That night we attended Helios and Oliver’s beautiful wedding at the Lincoln Park Zoo!
Congrats, Oliver & Helios!
Twinning in Chinatown for Sunday lunch.
I wanted to check our the Saved By The Bell pop-up, but it was closed when I went!
A cute little farmer’s market outside the Museum of Contemporary Arts Chicago.
Inside the MOCA.
And finally, exploring Chicago’s version of the High Line, the 606, which is named after the prefix for Chicago zip codes.
And the last “meal” of the trip? Pies from Hoosier Mama. ;)
Thanks for another lovely weekend, Chicago! I’ll be back next year!
