Adrienne & Jenton | 3 Years After I Do

|

Anna Wu Photography is celebrating 10 years in business this month! In honor of the anniversary, we’re catching up with past clients to see where they are today in our “After I Do” series.

Today, we say hello to Adrienne and Jenton, who were wed in Livermore on October 8, 2014.

So… How has life has changed in the last 3 years?

We got married 2.5 years ago and looking back, I feel like Jenton and I have warp sped (spud? speeded?) into adulthood. We did a lot of traveling (Hong Kong, Taiwan, Italy, Japan, Seattle, DC, LA, NYC, Ojai, Chicago). Our families grew exponentially with three new nephews, one new niece, and one new sister-in-law! We both got new jobs. We bought a house. And now we’re expecting a baby later this year, right before our third anniversary (or on… I’ve been told babies have a mind of their own).

Do you ever look back at your wedding photos? Do you have any favorite images from your wedding day?

Yes! Our absolute favorite photo is from the ceremony taken from the behind our guests. I feel like it captures everything we love about the day. Also, I love that we did an unplugged ceremony because there are no phones in sight of the photo! It just feels like everyone was present in the moment.

Looking back on your wedding day, is there anything you wish you had known or done differently?

Have a backup white shirt for the groom. The quintessential horror story happened at our wedding, a guest spilled red wine all over the husband and some got on my wedding dress. Thankfully, we just rolled with it and I had a backup white dress from the rehearsal dinner the night before. But my husband didn’t have a backup white shirt! Some kind friends were willing to give up their shirts, but he ended up wearing one of his favorite print ones from the rehearsal dinner anyway. We ended up being the cautionary tale for our friends who got married after us.

Any advice for couples who are about to get married?

Don’t pet sweaty things and don’t sweat the petty things. Everything will work out the day of. If it doesn’t, no one is going to remember it anyway. Also, it just makes for a better story later on!

Top three hopes or things you are looking forward to in your future?

1. Having more adventures! 2. Finally finish furnishing our home. We still have paint swatches up 1.5 years after moving in… 3. Raising a tiny human! (eeek!)
