Best of 2013: Travels, Food, and Books
2013 was a force of a year. It was the kind of year in which big things– gigantic things– kept happening, one after another. Right off the bat, my friends and supporters raised over $12k for my Pointe of View project, and I published a book! I traveled to four countries, two of which I hadn’t planned on until weeks before the trips. Both Anna Wu Photography and Seaglass Cinema did well this year. I photographed such lovely people and got to be surrounded by love in so many different places. I also found the perfect partner in crime in my boyfriend Jesse. The 3000 miles between San Francisco and New York haven’t stood a chance against our trigger-happy plane-ticket-buying fingers or our uncontrollable foodie bellies. And in my long stretches of what I like to call “hermit mode” in between trips, I just hid away in my apartment, catching up on work and brewing my next projects. And I still managed to read more than 24 books for fun.
Yes, it was that kind of a year. The kind that you look back on and wonder, how the heck did I get so lucky? This is exactly the kind of life I hoped for when I first ventured out into this photography business, and I am so grateful to all of the people in my life who have generously supported my unconventional path to make a year like this possible.
Thank you all for a beautiful 2013.
Best of 2013: Travels
One of my greatest passions in life is travel. This year was an especially packed one, with international travel to four countries and plenty of domestic adventures too. Click below to view the full blog posts in a new tab.
28 trips in total | 4 other countries | 5 trips to New York City | 3 trips to Los Angeles (down from 11 in 2012)
Best of 2013: Food
I have always loved a good meal, but 2013 was the year I went full foodie– thanks in large part to my boyfriend Jesse. From dining at Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry with a group of twelve friends to enjoying traditional kaiseki in Kyoto to a private catered dinner with two celebrity chefs, it’s been a delicious food-filled year. Oh, and I managed to rack up 15 Michelin Stars this year. From 0 to 15 in one year!
Best of 2013: Books
